Mohammad Yousaf (L) and Haider Ali (R) - PCBPakistan team's former batting coach Mohammad Yousaf shared his experience of working with young batter Haider Ali. Speaking to a local cricket website, Yousaf said he gave Haider tips whenever he met him. "As for Haider Ali, my interaction with him was somewhat limited. I was with him for a year only as the team's batting coach. I haven't really worked with him in academies or anything of that sort. But whenever I have met him, I gave him quite a few tips, which he definitely tried to adapt and learn," the former Test cricketer recalled. "Unfortunately, Haider couldn't implement it on the international level. Moreover, I do think that he is often distracted on the ground; he is mentally not present in the moment - I could be wrong, but this is what I assume. You have to be in the present moment whilst leaving the past behind and the future aside. This is important for all players of any kind, of any format," he shared. Haider represented Pakistan in 33 T20Is and two ODIs. He averaged only 18 and played with a strike rate of 126.32 during his stay in the team. Due to his poor performance, he was dropped from the team. He last played an international match against Zimbabwe during T20 World Cup 2022. In Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8, he played for Karachi Kings. The season didn't go well for the batter as he managed to score just 109 runs in six matches.
